Robust planning, network upgrades, and mobile assets: essential elements of response plan

NEW YORK, May 02, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As the 2024 hurricane season approaches, Verizon remains committed to keeping communities and first responders connected during severe weather events. With the combination of anomalously warm sea surface temperatures in the Atlantic basin, and the dissipation of El Niño in the Pacific, this year's Atlantic hurricane season is likely to be well above average. Verizon's Response Team prepares year-round to respond to extreme weather situations taking part in emergency drills, fortifying the network infrastructure, and ensuring resources are mobilized for rapid response.

"Crisis moments underscore the vital role of connectivity, and at Verizon, we take that responsibility seriously,” said Chris Flood, Atlantic North Market President, Verizon. “As we gear up for the 2024 hurricane season, our commitment to keeping communities connected and supporting first responders remains unwavering. Our relentless preparations and robust network infrastructure ensure that before, during and after a storm, we're able to serve our customers."
